New price list released today...main highlights seem to be-

Small price increases, about £500ish.

L&K 190PS TDI is £40170, a real shame they didn’t make it below the 40k

No 2.0 TSI listed

No 4x4 petrols at all

Sportline aero package must do something as it sneaks in lower on all the CO2 tests

Talk about shooting themselves in the foot. Don't they understand VED?

should still be t £140 if that is OTR price

deduct 1st year VED

Obviously not the only one....

Vehicles with a list price of more than £40,000

You have to pay an extra £310 a year if you have a car or motorhome with a ‘list price’ (the published price before any discounts) of more than £40,000.

You only have to pay this rate for 5 years (from the second time the vehicle is taxed).

not including first year VED which is around £515 depending on emissions, this has been discussed at length

thats the recommended OTR price according to the configurator, you need to deduct the first year VED bt in any case, Skoda have now reached the the dangerous area of price brackets where there is other competition

Confused by Tonitonic's posts

https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables

Year 1 linked to CO2/RDE2 figures

Year 2 to Year 6 £450

Year 7 onwards £140

Subject to future budget increases

sorry, the price on the configurator is the OTR price, this includes plates, delivery, registration and first year VED.

the 40k premium is not based on that price but you need to deduct first year VED and something else, can't remember, this new price is what is used to calculate VED from years 2- 6

the L&K in this example has 152 CO2 so 515£ first year VED

I reckon that means the vRS is going to be more like £42k OTR. Maybe a touch more...

edit: and no mention of the virtual cockpit on the configurator at all (either as standard or as an option on L&K)

Edited by WiggosSideburns

Skoda have today also confirmed a few configurations remain missing from the configurator / brochure, a couple of which include the 1.5 TSI 150 PS DSG 4x4 ACT and the 2.0 TSI 190 PS DSG 4x4.

Candy white is now £400 more expensive, the same price as the metallics.

Interestingly enough, there is now the option of a 1.5TSI 150PS 2WD manual on the Edition - a combination that wasn't available on the 1.4TSI when I bought mine, and the main reason why I've ended up with a DSG.

Guess I'm thankful though - loving every bit of it, but probably wouldn't have gone for it if a 2WD manual version had been possible.

The only mention of the virtual cockpit I can see is in the brochure. Standard on the vRS, even though the vRS isn't yet in the price and specification brochure or on the configurator...

A recommended option on the Edition too...

Surprised to not see it on the L&K.

Ah... from: http://www.skoda.co.uk/news/skoda-dials-into-the-future-with-new-virtual-cockpit-option/

Virtual Cockpit is available to order as an option now, and can be specified on OCTAVIA and SUPERB models from SE variants upwards at a cost of £450 including VAT). For ŠKODA’s SUV range, the technology is available on KAROQ from SE L upwards for £450 including VAT, and KODIAQ* from SE L upwards. The system is priced at £450 including VAT for SportLine, Edition and L&K variants, and £550 including when specified on SE L and Scout models.

Virtual Cockpit will be available to order on KODIAQ models later this year.

So wont be standard on L&K when you can actually order it... and there’s not much of this year left anyway!

Good find! They'd have been better saying " in a few weeks" rather than "later this year" :D

I wonder why it's another £100 (£550 vs. £450) on the SE L and Scout?

Just configured a SportLine and the virtual cockpit is showing...

And on the Scout...

sportline  and edition have colour maxi dot as standard so upgrade cost is less.

I think my biggest issue with the Virtual Cockpit is the fuel/temperature gauges either side - they're ugly as hell and I really don't like fuel gauges like that (it's one of many things that put me off a Mini Countryman, for example). I much prefer old fashioned needles on a dial...

On my golf gti the virtual cockpit is very customisable, you can change all of that between dials or just numbers etc.

You can't change the fuel / temperature gauges on the sides - they're not part of the screen. The Golf doesn't have them. Look at the white bars on left + right:

The fuel/temp gauges certainly seem very low tech/resolution compared to the rest of the cluster and look a bit out of place.

The cost savings have to come from somewhere unfortunately.

So why have those gauges at all? If the information is available within the virtual cockpit screen (which it is, or should be because it is on the VW version), why are they needed?

VW cockpit has more detail. Fuel and engine temperature gauges are displayed on LCD, whereas Skoda temp and fuel gauges are even not part of the LCD cockpit. Hell, why?

To make sure everybody understands that Skoda is cheaper car than VW? Cost effective wise absolutely nonsense.

Ha! Got the answer.

Passat has 12,3" LCD display.

VW Polo has 10,3" LCD.

Skodas have 10,25" LCD. (doubt it is still the same 10,3")
