Poor heater on Superb

Same on my 2014 (FL) with regard to circulating air. Heat wise, my diesel engine (1.6) takes awhile...

I leave the climate system on auto. I have a 6 mile drive to work via B roads at 50mph. I find that it takes 3-4 miles to get "warm" air, 6-7 to get something like "heat". The "warm" air starts getting produced when the temp gauge on the cluster hits about 50 degrees.

For comparison I measured my petrol tonight on a coldish evening (4 deg ice warning on). Warm air after 1-2ish miles and was hot air by 3-4miles when the temp gauge hit 90 degrees. When hot - it's too hot so you have to turn the heat down (mine is poverty spec S not fitted with climate control). Footwell vents work well but I prefer the setting that gives me screen, footwell and outer face vents combined at this time of year.

A diesel takes longer to warm up as it's more efficient and generates less heat from the combustion.

Temp wise, very much like the VW Up we also have. Like your petrol Superb - it's very quick.

My diesel Superb needs a minimum of double your distance to hit 90 on the gauge. I probably lose any diesel mpg/efficiency advantage by turning on my heated seats to cover for the lack of warmth!
