Good to see the UK configurator updated but seems the base price has now down to 25K instead of the 28K it was for a few months.

No chance. That's the price for the 150PS diesel, and it's actually nearer £38k than £37k.

 

The 190PS diesel is over £40k - and I can't see any way the vRS will be cheaper than that.

The vRS will probably be cheaper than similar engined L&K due to the vRS having substantially less kit on it.

Only it's not similar, is it. It's an extra 50PS!

 

Although I guess the Octy vRS is cheaper than the Octy L&K... so who knows?!

I'm pretty sure the vRS will be more than the L&K, based on the higher output bi-turbo engine alone.

 

The finalised UK specs of the vRS haven't been announced yet, but is does get something the L&K doesn't get, the virtual cockpit.

 

The L&K gets (over the Edition) the following features:

 

Panoramic sunroof (£1,175)

Front parking sensors (Part of Area View)

Curtain airbags (£500)

Aluminium pedals (£105)

Ambient lighting (£205)

Canton (£405)

Spare wheel (£150)

Area View (£1,250)

Progressive steering (£1,050)

Dynamic Chassis Control (£1,000)

Heated windscreen (£340)

 

Total = £6,180.

 

Edition - 2.0 TDI 150PS 4x4 SCR = £35,145 (OTR)

L&K      - 2.0 TDI 150PS 4x4 SCR = £37,695 (OTR)

 

£2,550 extra for £6,180 worth of extra's seems pretty good value.

Comparing with the vRS to the Sportline sounds closer to me. A 190BHP Sportline is pretty much £38k. Add an extra £1k for DCC and £450 for the virtual cockpit and you’re perilously close to £40k. And that’s without the cost of the 230BHP engine with its extra turbo. That said, it’s also got to compete against the 240BHP Tiguan All-Space which is £39600 and comes with a bucket load more kit - curiously only available as an SE-L rather than the bling R-Line though.

My order sheet states clearly 176kW (240 HP). The same as VWagens.
