Park pilot problem

Featured Replies

Yesterday my car came up with a message saying park pilot unavailable. When i go into reverse i get one very loud long beep and none of my parking sensors come on. Has anyone had this before and know what it is? The car is out of warranty so i want to fix it myself

When I had the long loud bleep and no parking sensors working on my Fabia (no fancy park pilot though) it was because the battery was very low. When I recharged it fully over 24 hrs, the problem disappeared.

Also could be your battery is on its way out.

Well it shouldnt as the car is only 4 years old

Both the car and battery out of warranty, get the battery checked first ,usually free!

I've never even used Park Pilot on my car at all, not much use unless you're doing a lot of town driving and not parking in standard car parks where you can't really use it anyway!

Sounds like you may getting confused with park assist, park pilot is activated any time you select reverse or press the button.

Your battery may simply be low on charge because of your useage. Recharge it using an external charger.

My mistake! I think you're right on this one.

Mind you on my car the sensors quite often beep wildly when there is nothing at all there, then calm down again, not 100% reliable!

We had this ... turned out to be a loose sensor on the front bumper ..... it was vibrating and causing an error , hence the unavailable message .... dealer (after an argument) removed the bumper and reattached the sensor .... problem has never come back. ... My research suggests loose sensors are a bit of a problem ... there is even a VAG repair kit for it ..... or lots of hot melt glue.

Hope it helps.
