I haven't broke the 30mpg mark since the day I got the car home....

 

To be fair I didn't buy the 280tsi for the mpg...

 

Bought it for the auto box, haldex and petrol instead of diesel

I presume that's the 1.4 or 1.5 tsi? I did 61.3 from Gloucester to Derby recently, and 63.1 from Minehead to Gloucester a while back in my Octy 1.4tsi. Regularly get mid to high 50s on long trips so long as I'm not in a hurry. Changing car soon and the 1.5 Superb is on the (very) shortlist.

Yes, 1.4.

 

1.5 wasn't available when i bought mine, but i find it perfectly acceptable.

 

I'm typically getting about 38-40 mpg in mixed driving, but I don't drive it like I have most of my other cars
