Lock Change

Featured Replies

Hi

Has anyone ever needed to have a lock change and if so how did they find the info to proceed.?

I had my car stolen and recovered by the police, I have a key but the assailant still has or may have the key, the car was taken from outside my home address using said keys.

I understand I can reprogram keys and delete old key but car can still be accessed via the door lock ?

I am a little bit anxious as I don't want to leave myself uninsured and the there doesn't seem to be any information online regarding

  • auto locksmiths who offer this service
  • costs involved
  • how this will affect my car in the future

I have 20 years ncb not protected am fully comp but took out no optional extras, so my insurance isn't really going to cover the cost , they only cover up to £500 for keys.

given my excess is £250. I am probably looking to cover the cost myself.

Any advise or any similar situations would be appreciated .
