Are all electric wing mirrors heated?

Featured Replies

I need to replace a smashed electric heated wing mirror. My mechanic said I must get an electric heated repalcement so the wires match up.

When looking for 2nd hand parts I see plenty of electric ones but they don't specify if they are also heated.

I presume heated screens would have been an option - so whether somethign is heated or not wuld need to be established in each case?  Or are they all heated anyway?

I am not too fussed about losing the heated facility but if I buy a non heated mirror will I still be able to connect it up and make it move? I presuem the connector block would be the same but minus 1 wire?

If they are heated, they will have the heater symbol, on the mirror adjustment switch.

The problem is that where I have found used aprts for sale the car has already been scrapped/or the seller isn't bothered about finding out for sure

In the end I have just bought one on ebay and I'll have to live without the heated feature if it doesn't have it. Much cheaper than buying a new one and painting it.

Before you buy a duff used one, many companies sell new. Euro car parts etc sell them either glass or complete. They are fairly easy to replace and can be painted quite cheap or you can buy the cap, painted via an eBay seller, for less then Skoda paint them

From carparts4less, they are around £62 for a complete mirror, electric, heated, if you type in the promo code cyber20!

You might even find a better code! Thats cheaper than euro and exactly the same stock!
