VCDS long coding for coming home, leaving home, DRL etc

Featured Replies

I am posting this here because I rarely get any response from the VCDS section of the forum.

I finally had the confidence to make some coding changes, had only done adaptation changes before, I had only seen a fraction of what could be recoded because I did not know that if you clicked on the next hex box more options came up, also I did not know how to copy over the long coding (click on "exit")

I seem to have had success with stopping both door mirrors adjusting together (put up with that for 12 years on the MK1  10 years before I even realised what was happening ) I now have both rear fog lights, other changes I wont know till I have driven it.

With the coming home/leaving home I only have partial success, not even sure which one is coming or going  if I open the doors with the keyfob at night the headlights and rearlights come on and remain on if I get in or switch off when the doors relock, does not do it in the daytime so I conclude that I have a light sensor and its functioning.

The function does not work when I leave the car though, I will re-check the coding tomorrow, there is also a setting under adaptation for CH/LH time and it says it can be set up to 60 seconds in blocks of 10 or something yet the current setting is 80, again I dont even know what it means or whether its affecting the function, whether I need to make any changes.

The other thing that I coded but does not appear to be working was front fog lights as daylight running lamps, there are also some settings for percentage illumination for them and other lights which again I dont understand.

Vehicle is 2005 1.9tdi Elegance Estate. Any comments or suggestions?

From what I can see 2 out of 3 threads in the VCDS section had responses. Hadn't noticed the 3rd so I'll add something.

Start by adding an autoscan as without one it's pretty hard to offer specific advice ;)
