Expedition roof rack

Featured Replies

Hey all, after a bit of advice.

I'm after an expedition type roof rack for my Yeti, as my girlfriend and myself are into road trips and overlanding etc. I have a Thule 581 tray on it at the moment, just need something bigger since the kids are getting older now. A roof box isn't practical as we tend to carry quite bulky things (obviously can't take rear seats out because of the kids haha)

I'm pretty sure no one makes one for the Yeti, so would it be a case of buying one and fabricating new mounting points? If so, what size rack would I roughly need? I.e off a Jimny, Disco etc.

We are planning on getting something bigger (l200, ranger etc), but for now we have the Yeti which we both love.

Thanks in advance,

Adam.

Not sure what your budget is and possibly a little far for you to come, but these guys round the corner from me are very good

Thanks Munfred. They look worth a call, I'll give them a bell when I get home from this trip :) Northants isn't too far from me either really, couple of hours! :)

Check carefully how much you can put up there. The limit, including the rack is 100kg.

Look at http://toolstation.com

Universal Roof Tray.   120cm x 97 x 15 @ £80.82

There are similar and bigger ones in various 4x4 & Van websites.

Lots of Yeti as a camper.  Sleeping in a Yeti etc

if you do a search or a google of Briskoda Yeti threads.  Roof Tents on a Yeti in various threads.
