Amundsen issues

Featured Replies

Very happy with my Karok (12k miles now).

When I ordered it I decided not to upgrade to Columbus which I had on my Octavia as the cost was silly and the screen size on my 1.5 SEL is a good size.

However two issues with the Amundsen. Firstly on dual carriageways and motorways the system quite regularly wants to take me off at a junction and immediately rejoin! Bizarre.

Secondly when system is fully zoomed out there is an annoying blank band at the top of the screen, which goes when zooming in.

Am I alone with these issues?

I think everyone with Amundsen experiences the motorway issue from time to time, it is annoying.

Rarely fully zoom out so unsure about that, will have a look next time.

Mine's never took me off and back on but i have the blank band at the top think it something to do with the horizon. Not there when not in sat nav mode

Is the blue band not the sky :)

Blank band is so annoying, spoils the large screen Image.

HA ha, perhaps I should imagine its the sky

My issue with the Amundsen relates to using my mobile phone as a hotspot to get the data into the system.

It sees the phone without a problem but why do I have to put the password in every time I start up and want to connect?

Very frustrating as nothing else I connect to my phone needs this.

Am I missing something?

I think the Sat Nav is brilliant and works well.

Don't worry, the Columbus in our 2018 Kodiaq takes us off and back on at motorway junctions.

With the Amundsen you also get proper knobs to twiddle for the volume and zoom, on the Columbus they're missing, which can be annoying.

Mine keeps the password but still reluctant to connect
