Not trying to scaremonger but are we affected?

Featured Replies

Well, isn't Karoq just an Arona with a different Skirt?

Isnt Polo and Fabia and Rapid related?

I could go on.....

For cars that are acknowledged as affected,  the simple solution offered by VAG is a sticky label , for now, they are now all 4 seaters....apparently

They are all spaver connected when Fabia, Rapid, A1, Ibiza, Polo,

then again with a Golf, Leon, A3 etc etc.

An Ateca is a Karoq & Tiguan with a different skirt but can be built by Skoda.

No idea if the MBQ A0 is a shorter version of these New Type Approved platform used with the Arona.

EDIT,

i can see the link now,

so the Arona is just on a platform that was used with a Fabia back in 1999, then since the Mk2 Fabia in 2008 did not even need new Type Approval when the introduced the All New 3rd generation Fabia in 2014.  Just some 'bits and pieces changed' to not radically change the platform, just engine and suspension mount points.

I don't know anyone slim enough to use the 5th seatbelt in a Rapido. I've always though of it as a 4 seater anyway.

But Its only the Arona, Ibiza Mk VI and new Polo as far as I know with this seatbelt issue - that has been known for a time since the Finnish test revealed it.

Auto Express first reported to the UK about it in early May 18.

Interestingly the defective buckles are made by Takata - also responsible for multi-millions of dodgy airbags that had to be recalled a few years back.
