Deactivating electrical windows

Featured Replies

Recently I have had a lot of issues with the electrical windows on my Skoda Octavia 2004 model going down after the car is turned off. I had a theory that the problem was inside the panel on the drivers side (which can control all the windows) so I tried disconnecting the connector, but with no luck. My question is then, do you guys know how you can disconnect all of the electric windows at once? The problem always seems to be most prevailing when it is raining outside (very convenient...)

They all have individual door/window controllers that are activated by Canbus signals from either the windwo switches via the drivers door controller or the comfort control module in the case that all 4 windows are dropping.

probably cause is water ingress to either of those two from either blocked scuttle vents or rain running inside the drivers door.

Removal of one fuse (check wiring diagram) will stop it happening but will probably prevent you fromopening any of the doors except the drivers door with the key.

Having had similar problems and ending up with 3 deadlocked doors I would try to find the cause this time and not try living with it hoping the cause would manifest itself, had I had VCDS I'm pretty sure I would have found it straight away.

As far as I have tested, the separate window switches on all the passanger seats is fully functional. My initial response to the issue was to attempt to remove the fuse, but the fuse for controlling the windows according to the diagram did not exist strangely enough....
