front wipers not working

Featured Replies

I have a Fabia 2 1.4 TDI and front wipers have stoped working.I have looked at the fuses thay look ok but I have no fuse in number 15 . Took the moter out that is working . Don't no wot to cheak next . Can enybody help please

If the wipers were working before and it's not the fuse, then it could be the the wiper stalk itself. Use to have an Audi that eventually ground to a halt (the wipers, not the car). That turned out to be dry gear linkage, but don't see it being an issue on the Fabia. Know anyone with a copy of VCDS locally that can scan it for you?

Have you tried operating the front washers to see if that gets a response from the wipers?

Have a look at fuses 26 and 44.

If the motor is working, have you checked the linkages? (Does the motor turn the splines and can you hear it turning on the car)? Usually, the drivers side one fails as the joint gets loose and pops off. If the passenger one does this, it may make both stop working though! The single, drivers side link is only a few quid but the whole linkage is around £50 although you can use stainless steel clips as seen on eBay, to clip over the joints to stop the popping off. These re meant to be temporary but my one still works, two years later!

Did you manage to sort this as I have the same problem. The front washers squirt but no wiper sweep. I have had the motor out and it works  The brown wire is earth , the next wire -green black did nothing, white and black is slow, and green and white is fast.

Is the green and black a feed for the park position?
