My new Fabia has Amundsen as standard.

There is a useless voice button on the unit telling me my dealer has an activation key.

Can anyone tell me if the 'voice' button is activated does it work in conjunction with Amundsen satnav? Would Amundsen satnav work with the voice button on the steering wheel?

I'm not asking about android auto and Google maps as I already know that works.

I just want to know if anyone uses Amundsen with voice control?

Either no one really knows or no one has it.

As i understand it.

For the car to be able to use the voice function you need to pay ( £35.00 ) to have it turned on and work.

This uses the car's in built software and the car's hardware.

 

If you are using Android Auto then the voice function works by using the cars hardware but Android's software on your phone.

So Android Auto utilises the hardware that the car has. Microphone, speakers, screen and buttons including those on the MFSW.

Some equipment functions can be operated by using voice commands.

 

Applies to Amundsen, Bolero: To enter the destination, it is necessary to first say“enter address” and then follow the instructions on the device. You can say the house number and a further additional address in the form of a number where necessary. The device then offers the number combination it has found if the house number and the additional address, exists in the street entered where appropriate. It is not necessary to spell city and street names if the entered destination is located in a country that has no voice control available for the language.

I should have bought voice control when I ordered the car.

I think you can still order it as you already have the hardware.

I guess I'll have to ring round the dealers for the best price. Maybe my dealer will have sympathy (but wanting repeat custom).

I wonder what's the cheapest price someone here has got it for?
