Rapids Spaceback owners fuel tank

Featured Replies

Howdy. I was wondering what sort of range in miles people are getting from a full tank of fuel.

Also what sort of price you pay to fill up the tank.

Thanks

Bit more info needed here, petrol or diesel, size of engine?

As for what we pay, depends on where you live. I can go to two separate Asda petrol stations within 15 miles of each other and there's a 2p difference in ppl.

Yeah sorry so I'm interested in any of the petrol engines. And shall we say 2018 UK petrol prices. So nothing specific. Let say you went and filled up today from your local supermarket, how far would that  get you and much would it cost. I use the super unleaded.

Specs show that the tank size and is rated at 55 litres, approx 12 gallons, forget the last gallon so 11 gallons. In ordinary use that should give you about 550 miles (assuming it would do the same mpg as a Fabia with the same engine - should do ( we get 50 mpg approx form a 1.0 TSi 110 psi in general use, 60 on a run), On a long trip you should get nearer 660 miles form the 11 gallons.

Using Asda 95 RON @ £1.167 a litre 55 litres would cost £64.18 pence.

Using super unleaded at 10 pence a litre extra would cost £69.68 but that would simply be £5.50 wasted. There is no need to use 98 RON in anything this side of a turbo nutter ****** type engine that is set up specifically to benefit from using it. Small family hatches are designed to use normal fuel, in fact the Fabia engines will run perfectly well on 92 RON according to the manual if 05 RON is not available. Will never be a problem in the UK, no one sells it.

Using super unleaded like 97 ron from Sainsbury or 99 Tesco Momentum 99 would be 5 pence a litre more than their 95 ron so £2.50 a tank more only

if putting in 50 litres. Same with Costco Super unleaded.

As to Shell V-Power Nitro+ 99 ron or BP, ESSO,  which are 97 ron min etc,. then a different extra cost.

No sellers of 98 ron minimum in the UK.

5p more for high octane is almost certainly worth it. My TSIs have normally gained about 6 or 7 % economy ,so 3 to 4 mpg, on Shell Nitro+ v's Shell 95.

Didn't know it took 55 litres. Even with zero on the range readout I've never got more than 52 in.
