MIB1 Nav - Not the GVN60 one

Featured Replies

I remember seeing somewhere on this site that some one had a built in aftermarket Nav in their Skoda which worked with the MIB1 unit, but it wasn’t the normal Kenwood GVN-60 unit it was some one else’s. anyone know who’s it was? I’m sure it was someone big like alpine but can’t find it for love nor money.

cheers

I will have a look at them properly at lunch but it wasn’t a head unit change it was a magic box like the GVN60 that sat behind the dash just used the built in radio screen.

i am tempted to swap the head unit seeing as how some now work with the steering wheel and all the canbus data it’s just the massive cost that puts me off.

Doesn’t have to be a massive cost if you buy the parts cheaply :) MIB2 units are dropping in price, if you want an 8 inch screen you may have to stretch, but the 6.5 inch screens are cheap enough. I know of a member here who has an 8 inch glass FL display for sale at a great price. I paid £440 for my MIB2 swap after selling my old Bolero. Most people tend to pay between £5-700 depending on parts costs and component protection removal cost. Coding can be done by member Pab567 and I wholly recommend his services. It’s worth the upgrade as the MIB2 is all round a better radio unit and you get SmartLink for Android Auto/Apple CarPlay/MirrorLink :)
