Lease or PCP

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am looking at a new car for my wife. Would be looking to hand back every 3 years and replace new again.

Is this better to get from a lease company or a Skoda franchise?

And if anyone has had a fabia recently what deal did you get on a pay monthly basis?

If you have made a decision in advance to hand back, then lease should be cheaper, as a PCP has different finance structure including an option cost.

Leases work best if you don’t add options, if you do they may be fully priced over 2-3 years so add quite a bit.

Try using this comparison site, can set upper limit to monthlies, and easiest if you set the deposit to 1 or 3 months.

Remember the deals will be presented to make a monthly payment look good for the financially gullible (which is why salesman try and up sell this way).  What you need to do is add up total cost (deposit, arrangement fee, £yy per month x number of months) then divide this total by number of months to give a true monthly equivalent cost.   This is the only true comparison figure.
