Direct Download Liks for ECE 2019/2020 Maps - Amundsen MIB 2 please

Featured Replies

Hi,

Hope someone can help.

Go to the update portal and put in my VIN and I get 7 different map options to update the Amundsen MIB2 in my Octavia.

Select ECE 5 2019/2020 (8,00Gb) and download the downloader (why can't you simply download the map *shrugs*)

Select the folder on the HDD where to temporarily store the .zip file

It downloads over 8Gb of data - but the downloader doesn't close/terminate and the downloaded file has the name

STD2_1115_EU_DL2_201920.zip.tmp

Has anyone got a direct download link to avoid using the buggy

Skoka downloader that seems to be hanging?

Tried two different browsers (Chrome and Firefox) and same issue with both.

Why can't the map update process be SIMPLE??

The downloader does work; it's just very slow - un-pack the zip to you SD card and wait a few hours.

Why can't the process be simple? - this is Skoda - simply clever!

Thanks for the reply.

Since I posted, the downloader seems to be doing stuff, but on a VM Fibre connection (just tested at 40Mbps) it is taking Simply AGES!

Wouldn't mind but it is only an 8Gb download (so, in theory, only just over 3min 20sec to download).

your speed test is probably multithread, and the skoda download will only be a single thread.  Plus if new maps are out, everyone is probably hammering the same server for them....  A slow free download is better than no download at all!

Thanks Ade.

it managed to d/load okay but took ages.

Just need to backup the current map and reformat the SD card now and unzip the files to the card
