Random Issues and Rattling

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have had some random issues with my Skoda Octavia 2016 1.6T

It is a Lex Autolease and has been to the main dealer and to Halfords for a diagnostic check but both fail to find fault with it.

This started about a month ago when the car went into limp home mode out of the blue. The car was checked by the VAG rescue guy who registered a fault code, it was then taken to the main Skoda dealer. They had it for a day but found no fault and admitted they did nothing to it. The fault code indicated something to do with the throttle body sensor I believe. When I picked up the car it was obvious that something was still at fault as the engine was spluttering a bit under gentle acceleration and had a load knocking noise from what sounded like the top of the engine.

Moving on a couple of week, the car has now come up with a particulate filter fault, a fault with auto start/stop and limp home fault all on the same day. These indicators cleared after leaving the car for the day parked up. The car now randomly makes the rattling noise at low speed and occasionally stutters under gentle acceleration. When I parked up at home tonight I tried the throttle and found it wouldn't rev over 2500 rpm even without any warning lights showing.

Has anyone got advice as I dont wan to keep bookiing it in and the fault not showing up on the day, wasting my time. On the other hand I don't want to be accused on abusing the vehicle as it contract lease.
