Hi all, I’m the happy new owner of a Fabia SE L 1.4tdi and need some advice concerning the wheel size. I’ve been very impressed with the Michelin Crossclimates on my Golf VII, but cannot find a set that will fit the Fabia.

 

Has anyone got any experience fitting 205/55/16 tyres over the standard 215/45/16?

To much difference in size from the standard size. See here:-

Try these as a good all season tyre with the TPMSS in your size 215-45 R16 90V XL

Vredestein Quatrac 5 in  215-45 R16 90V XL.  I use these on one of my cars.

My advice is ignore summer tyres in UK from now on, go for all seasons, and buy ones with good ratings.  Ignore anything with low rating (even if cheap). Some such as cross climate are in limited sizes which might restrict your options.

 

Try TyreReviews.co.uk and enter size you need, click all seasons, then sort by rating. (Obviously brand new designs might have limited reviews which can distort the search ranking)

Thank you both for the quick responses - I’ll certainly check out the Quatrac 5s and the tyre forums. Hoping for an improvement over the factory fitted Dunlops!
