EPC light on

Featured Replies

I was changing my boot bulbs with LEDs then the lights went of now I have EPC on and the car is gutless . Anyone help me

No help :(

You have been a bit vague.

what exactly happened? which lights went off? are they still off? Did you short something out?

bottom line you need a code reader to figure out what has happened

I was putting led bulbs in the boot and all my interior lights went off I then went to go out and the epc light was on and the traction control light is on . This morning I started it and it don't sound well at all

Do you reckon I've popped something or something as simple as a reset . I've seen on YouTube ways to turn of the EPC light but would that work

Check all your fuses one by one.

So say there was a fuse that's gone would that make the car run so bad ??

Very easy way to find out...

Get yourself an OBD reader  £14 using discount code

Or another Obd reader  at £15 using discount code

Then you'll know whats causing it and can easily reset it with the reader.

Do you have the Owner's Handbook? Should be some info in there.

Well u was right with the blown fuse number 15 . So would that make the car run funny ? I don't have a spare fuse to try it

As I say, easy to find out, put a new fuse in when you can get one, and see what happens.  Let me see if I can identify one that won't matter if you borrow it; gimme two minutes.

Damm if this works I'll be so happy . It's my first car so not the best with it yet but getting better with this forum :)

Have you got a 5 Amp one n position 18? That's for a "Parking aid control unit" which sounds like something you could do without for a bit. I know the one you need is 7.5A, but I bet a 5 amp fuse will last long enough to prove a point (or not).

  • Author

No I don't have 1 in position 18

Shame you're not nearer, I've got dozens of spare fuses!

Yeah is a shame I could do with advice . I'm in essex , Colchester

Unless it was a sarcastic reply, try clicking the links in the post!

Streetwize obd readers from Carparts4less, also available from Eurocarparts, ebay, etc.
