well first happy new year

bought a kodiaq sportline 150bhp manual 5 weeks ago and so far a little dissapointed.

passenger seat will not go up or down, sat nav has a mind of its own,dab radio keeps cutting out and why does it stall in second gear going around a corner at low speed.but apart from these niggles i think its a nice car.

to say its only 150bhp its very nippy, only done 1000 miles so taking it easy.anyone else have any of these issues

cheers bigbaz

So it is 1.5 tsi? Yes some have problems with that engine stalling. Take a look at the skoda karoq section in here:

There is a 150bhp 2.0 TDI, 1.4 TSI and 1.5 TSI in the Kodiaq.

The SportLine gets an electrically adjustable drivers seat, but the passenger seat has manual height and lumber adjustment (as standard). Are you saying the lever shown in this picture isn't working?

should have said its the dieasel

yes the side lever does not work, set the seat low for a 6'3" passenger then when i wanted to higher the seat will not raise, the lver seems to be stuck.

the stalling in second is my main issue though.

What car did you have before?

It's difficult to diagnose without seeing it first hand, could you be letting the revs drop too low? Is 1st gear needed instead?

All diesel Skodas are bad in second gear at low revs. Drove me crazy for a while, then you learn to shift down before crossings. Next Skoda gonna be DSG for me. You´re gonna get used to it, not the end of the world, but a bit annoying.

getting used to the second gear issue just a niggle i think.

does anyone have an issue with the dab radio going off, move the channel up or down then back to the staion being listened to and its ok.

That will be due to lack of dab signal. If available the dab will revert to fm channels and then convert back to dab when the signal is strong enough. But for something like 5 live, I lose the signal, and then can wait for a bit for the signal to return.

Yes mine sort of jumps to FM like milkymarsh says

Really not convinced by that argument. It happens to me pretty much every time I have the radio on for more than 5 minutes, and it's annoying. Every other car I've had with DAB has had no problem with the reception anywhere around where I live... but the radio on my bear keeps dropping out.

If it was due to a lack of signal, then changing stations and immediately changing back again shouldn't work. Or if it is because the signal drops a bit, then it really is too sensitive and the antenna isn't as good as other cars.

It’s a bit of both tbh. The signal drops due to lack of antenna reception (so it could be down to a poor antenna location.

But it’s also down to the head unit realising that there is enough signal and being able to revert back to the dab channel. It may be a one way switch, and hence why a manual switch away and back is required.

if i am parked up on my drive and it goes off, move up or down a station then straight back to original then ok ,as milkymarsh says

There could just be a bad connection to the aerial, it crops up occasionally across the forum.

Thanks for that tip. We drive from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast regularly, and there are regular DAB drop-out zones en route - such as timber pine forests, road works metallic roadside barriers, etc. DAB radio is relatively new to our expansive continent, eg with few transmission towers, but the sound quality between AM, FM and DAB is phenomenally better - especially with Kodiaq's 16 speaker system.
