Remote Key Matching Process

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone, and a Happy New Year to you all :)

I am in the process of changing the central electronics module in my 2012 Octy 2 FL 1.6 TDi Greenline from an ....085 to and ....087. Although I should note that the ....087 module is from a FL 2009 1.9 TDi Elegance, not that I should see that causing an issue (maybe I'm wrong here?)

Anyway, I have had the module installed and coded correctly, everything works fine, apart from two issues that may or may not be linked.

One is a fault code on the new module - code 02723 - Control Circuit for Power Supply Relay (Terminal 50). Even when clearing it comes back, but doesn't trigger any lights on the dash, so I can live with it if it's not hurting anything.

The other issue is that no matter how hard I try, I cannot get my two key fobs to match with the new central electronics module. They are still accepted by the immobiliser which I believe is part of the instrument panel electronics, so no issues with actually using the car. I just have to lock the doors manually, which is getting a tad annoying

I have followed the process on http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/vw-remote-matching.html to the letter, and everything says accepted, but when I come to change the number of paired remotes in adaptation 01 channel to 2 (currently at 5) and press and hold the unlock button on the fob, the car doesn't accept it and pair. I have also tried clearing all paired remotes first in adaptation channel 00, and then using channel 01 to pair the remotes, but again no joy.

If anyone has any ideas I'd be greatly appreciative.

Cheers all!
