Yeti Fault Codes

Featured Replies

Hi there, my car has thrown theses codes; 072B, 073E and 173D. Automatic petrol, will go into reverse, but not actually work and in drive these is no power and very chuggy and high revs. Local mechanic isn’t up to date with this car and isn’t sure what to do or what these codes mean. No Skoda dealer within 500km either. Please help!

Assuming those codes just needed converting to decimal.

072B becomes 01835 which is likely a dead bulb.

073E becomes 01854 which may be heated seat related.

173D becomes 05949 which is probably a gearbox issue.

This page might help: https://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?7680-0AM-DSG-Fault-codes-P173A-P173B-P173C-P173D-P173E-P173F

You should get it scanned with VCDS or some other VAG specific tool to confirm the abovv and then probably find a VAG gearbox specialist.

Welcome to the forum.

?

Have you had a 'White Flashing Spanner' show?

One possibility is sadly the Mechatronic Control Unit, but that needs someone with the gear and more than an idea to diagnose that.

In Australia your DQ200 DSG had a 'Recall'  in 2012/13.

So has that been done, Synthetic Oil changed to Mineral Oil and a Software Update.

That was '34F7'  in Europe.

Maybe your DSG came with Mineral Oil and was not part of this.

Or is your DSG one that is part of the Service Campaign. '34H5'  a Software Update.   Best check with Skoda Australia.

Then is the car serviced.

New Spark Plugs with correct gap.  New / Fresh Air Filter.  New Fuel Filter.   Ignition Coils OK, and no issue with the Ignition Lead.  A known issue which resulted in an upgrade.

Is you engine one built after the issues with Riming Chain Tensioners.  Again there were Upgrade Kits available due to issues with Early 1.2 TSI engines.

Thankyou! another error code that came up was 0522 which I think is a problem with the ecu/Ecm. So this could also be the cause of the other fault codes coming up.

Yes a flashing spanner is showing, and 5w30 synthetic oil is what is being used. Was not aware of any recalls issued, it is 2012 model yeti I will have to look into this!

Sorry not talking about 'Engine Oil'  & Full Synthetic.

Your Filled for life DQ200 DSG Oil.    If you have a Flashing White Spanner in a 2012 car i take it that was not part of the World Wide Recall.

or the Service Campaign on the 2013-2015 production run.

I will post a like to a Flashing White Spanner issue.   It seems to be getting more common with 2012 production DQ200 DSG's.

Those with Mineral Oil from the factory and MCU failures,

This is in many vehicles from that period .    VW / Skoda are playing deaf, dumb and blind to these particular age of DSG's failing.

Yes sorry I realised after that you meant gearbox oil. My car is not drivable at the moment and being in a small town, no one knows how to fix it. Do you know if there is a site I can put my cars vin number in to check for any recalls, or updates for the ecu?

thankyou for your help

You have official Recall Sites in Australia.     I can look on Google, or just do it yourself.

Or call or Email Skoda Australia.    They know, they can check the VIN and tell you.

http://productsafety.gov.au/recalls

I put in DQ200 and up came the VW models. but only 2008-2011, as in New Zealand.

I know that VW / Audi did it first but then they had to include Skoda.

Members on Briskoda from Australia got a new gearbox fitted free not just a New MCU unit.   They were in 2012 cars.
