Superb self-dipping xenon headlights

Featured Replies

My 4-month old Skoda Superb Estate L&K does not automatically dip the main beam when it encounters the headlight of an oncoming car.

Is that a fault of the sensor or is there a selection I have to make on the menu?

Thanks

You might already know but you have to have your lights set to " Auto " then push the main beam stalk away from you and let go You should then get a Light symbol on the dash with a letter " A " in it.  This is to turn the HBA on Push the Stalk away from you and it will turn off. You can still use the Flash by pulling the stalk towards you and this has no affect on the HBA.

This is how it works on my 230 Vrs ( Octavia )

Thank you very much Auric! I will try that this evening. (My first time with Skoda brand. It’s an impressive car!)

Hi Auric,

Thanks for writing. I didn’t want to disappoint you but I did exactly as you suggested and it didn’t work. After blinding a few oncoming drivers, I think the conclusion is that there must be a fault somewhere. Also there was no indication on the instrument dial. (Unless it has been deleted as a standard item.)

Kind regards, Teck

A warm welcome to the Forum !  Looks like a call or visit to the dealer.  I got my Octavia new in Oct 17 and with all the electronic gadgetry still had to ring and ask.  It must be there somewhere?

Thank you sir! Yes, I will certainly enquire but I hope the local dealer would be helpful even though I bought it from another county.
