ESP/Tyre Inflation Warning Light after engine change

Featured Replies

Cambelt changed September 2018 cambelt failure end of November 2018 (Dayco) opted to replace the engine (BMN) battery was disconnected around 1 week, this issues I now have is both the ESP light is contently on and so is the tyre inflation  abs is fine

Took it to the garage that sponsores my daughter racing and they used a Snap on Diganostic and state that the ABS/speed sensors are ok and giving a reading which makes sense the ABS is working fine but the ESP is not and suggested I look at the fuses and get back to them now before the comments comes on I have not paid for there service  so before I start putting more money into this and giving that the engine has been changed prior to this there were no faults showing does anyone have a idea why these faults are now present yet were not prior to the engine change?

Replacement Engine was from a A3 TDI S line (170BHP)

Fuses in the engine bay appear all ok on inspection and the ones drivers side dash also.

Any help appreciated

Sounds like the dreaded G201 pressure sensor in the ABS block to me, may be worth finding someone with VCDS?

Surely a pressure sensor in the ABS pump would surely mean the ABS would not function? as stated before the ABS is working as expected I have tested and also am I right in thinking that a G201 Fault would present on the diagnostic that has been carried out?

Side note I found fuse 29 to be blown in the manual it states it is for ECU and Crank Pre heating or something would this have any bearing on it I have replaced it with a working correct 10 amp but this has not resolved it.

I'm not familiar with the snap on stuff, I have VDCS, when mine went I had the ABS, Traction control and the ESP lights on, pretty sure the ABS still worked but not the ESP, it's been a long time since mine packed up.

Hope this helps,
