Help!

 

I'm new to this forum so patience required. I've got error code P3138 on my 07 Octavia Vrs BMN, 115k.

On drive from Glasgow to Cornwall the glow plug light, engine management & DPF warning lights came on, and car eventually went into limp mode.

A garage down there diagnosed a new inlet manifold actuator required and replaced it and they managed to regen the DPF.

No joy - warning lights and limp mode returned on journey north.

The solenoid valve was then replaced by my local garage however again that didn't solve the problem.

A leakage was then discovered from the inlet manifold and I replaced that myself (inlet manifold and actuator new from Darkside Developments).

Following that I had to get the DPF cleaned as it wouldn't regen.

Car seemed back to normal.... until glow plug light returned... it is intermittent and normally turning the key clears the warning. There doesn't seem to be any consistency as to when the light comes on, ie warm or cold engine, outside temperature, high or low speed. I was able to put up with this for a while, until on a longer drive the glow plug light stopped clearing and then the DPF light returned. Eventually the warning light did clear again and after a while the DPF regenerated as I was at higher speeds.

The engine management code is now reading:

12600 Intake Manifold Runner Control Regulation Deviation P3138 Short With Power - Intermittent.

 

What might be causing this? Any help appreciated!

For anyone with this issue in the future, it turned out to be a fault with the anti shudder valve. Darkside Developments were amazingly helpful. I replaced the part and no warning light since, happy days.
