Low mileage 2016 1.4 Tsi ACT?

Featured Replies

Looking to get a second one of these to compliment my wifes!

Am looking at a three year old car that has been doing about 7,000km a year, though it has been serviced three times in that period.

Question is, is there anything to be worried about with this engine and very low mileage, assuming lots of short journeys with a cold engine?

I had the same car and 16 plate for the last 6 months, it's really great car with a powerful engine.

I do about 10K mile a year and didn't face any problem even in the cold weather.

If you have any specific question I'm more than happy to help.

The engine has been available in the Superb since mk3 launch in Sept 2015. Before that its been used in some Audis and in non ACT form in Octavia III. More recently in Passat and Kodiaq

Not aware of any reports of major issues anywhere, just one or two reports of minor vibration/noise when in 2 cylinder mode which imo may not necessarily have been faults.

So all in all it looks good (touch wood)

The main thing is that despite the low annual mileage it has been serviced annually. I think that is important for longevity.

I'd be more worried if it was a diesel with that annual mileage.

To be honest I'd grab it because most reports suggest it is drives better than the new 1.5tsi engine.

It's had three services in 15,000km so all good there. Oh, and the car is now sitting in my driveway.

:heart:Brilliant silver, much underrated colour.....

3 Services,

but what was done at the services, Oil / Filter, one pollen filter, no Air Filter, no spark plugs.  Road Test, a look see & report and a wash & Vacuum 3 times?

So be prepared to get a Service done. Brake Service, Spark Plugs & Air Filter if required.

Oil and filters, pollen filter at each service.

Booked in for rear pads and disk, plus brake fluid.

That seems rather odd to have to replace the rear disks and pads at such low mileage and the brake fluid would have been changed during the scheduled third year service.

Disks have mild surface scoring and corrosion after three years in Scotland with salted roads.  Not essential but cheap enough to get done.
