Lane assist with high beam components

Featured Replies

I tried this afternoon to code the lane assist function with obd11. Managed a few smaller jobs so far but this one got stuck on getting into control unit A5. It doesn't appear in the list to start with so I added it but throws an error when trying to access it.  I found a thread with similar issue on an Audi but they did have the required components. I have high beam assist and the associated camera (unit A5) and thought that would be enough. Am I wrong? Code I am using it below. Taken from obd11 forums where other Octavia owners have reported success.

Thanks

If you only have high beam assist, you probably have a lowline camera at address 20. This cannot support lane assist or traffic sign assist.

Lane assist requires a highline camera at address A5. If your car had traffic sign assist/recognition from factory, you should have an A5 camera.

A picture of the camera from outside the car will confirm which is fitted:

- If it's built into the rear view mirror mount, it'll be a lowline

- If there is a blacked out section with a triangular cutout, it'll be a highline

thanks @langers2k I'll nip out later and take a look.  From memory it is built into the mirror mount so probably a lowline.

Hi, sorry to but into this thread. I have just taken delivery of a new VRS and tried to activate the high beam assist but OBD11 came back with 'not supported'. I have lane assist and beam controls etc; no problem activating on my outgoing VRS. Thoughts anyone or does someone have the long coding for the MY19.
