spare wheel for mark 2 fabia

Featured Replies

Hello

I'm looking for a spare wheel for a 2012 Fabia. I've looked around online and see that when i search for this i also get results for the roomster - am i right that the spare wheel for the roomster will also fit my mark 2 fabia?

also any advice on where to find a spare wheel would be appreciated. I found it quite frustrating to discover that it didnt come as standard, to be honest.

thanks in advance for your help.

Briskoda has a Wanted section and a For Sale section and occasionally Spare wheels to fit a Fabia / Roomster come up, and a tool kit.

PM sent.

Many cars now have no spare-not even a space-saver! They fit a pump and a bottle of (Fairly short shelf life) Fluid to squirt in to the valve, to get you to the garage or home!

This saves weight and production cost, whilst often allowing the dealership to sell you a spare at an inflated price (Pun intended).

Also, many owner want the actual matching alloy, anyway. This makes sense as it will not need swapping over as soon as possible and also gives you a spare to fit, if you need to get a wheel re-furbed, etc.

There is also the option of a repair kit, where you insert rubbery, glue smothered "Worms" Into the tyre and re-inflate. This means no need to remove the wheel at the road side. Some say safe, others dangerous but if it gets you going quicker, stays inflate etc, which it will do if done properly, can be safer then being left stranded by a busy carriageway.

Regarding the safety and legality of these worms, many so called tyre fitter/puncture repairers use them anyway, even if you see them remove the wheel. That may just remove it for easier access and to dip-test the tyre in water. They re-fit the wheel, fully aware that you are driving on U.K. roads so they must actually be legal. (The product often has a disclaimer stating for off road use only).

I would assume that this is due to the manufacturer not knowing the law regarding usage in any given country and not knowing how well the person using it is, well... Using it!

does the mark 2 fit a full size wheel in or do you need a space saver?

A full size Steel or Alloy up to 205/40 R 17 or even 215/40 R 17 fits in the Spare Tyre Well.

A wheel / tyre that matches the 4 on the car will go in the spare tyre well.

The Spare wheel that Skoda use as OEM sometimes & offer as an option is fitted with a 195/55 R 15 tyre.  or 185/60 R 15.

So saves space but is not a 'Space Saver.'

thanks for the reply,  my Fabia has 205/45 R16 tyres.  I'm going to take one off this weekend to make sure if fits before getting a spare.

Good,

as well to be sure you can get all wheels off and they have not welded on to the hubs.

I can guarantee it fits in the spare tyre well, i used to have a 205/45 R 17 in a Mk2 Fabia, and even a 215/40 R17.
