Hello Skoda Octavia 16TDi SE L 7sp semi-auto!

Featured Replies

After many many years of being a Citroënista, I've bought a 66 plate Octavia Estate.  Reason?  Nearest I could find to a C5 Estate. The salesman at the local Citroën dealer was so rude when I enquired.  I walked away.  Their loss.

First impressions after years of armchair driving are generally positive. The 7 speed semi-auto box is very good (but the creep's a bit strong for me), there's loads of space and the car's well equipped, though fine details are still eluding me at the moment e.g. model of satnav,  is autonomous braking fitted, front obstacle detection, &c.,   I got a spare wheel added as the thought of no spare appals me, despite all the wonderful 12 months all singing and dancing AA cover.

I've found out how to turn off the radio without turning off the satnav, and I'm coming to terms with pulling the key out does not switch of the 12V sockets (which it really should IMO).  Bluetooth paired easily with my LG Android, though the Mrs had her phone off for my test call. Typical.

MPG isn't as good as I'd hoped for but it is a big car with a not very powerful 1.6 diesel engine.

I expect to be asking silly questions, like I can't find this and that, are the wipers auto, and how to update the SatNav. ( http://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-GB/Updates ?)

Any way, so far, so good.

Looking forward to exploring the info on the site.
