wheel front/rear ratio on 4x4 Superb Elegance TSi 1.8L petrol manual

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anyone know what the front/rear ratio on a 4x4 Superb Elegance TSi 1.8L petrol manual is, please?

Is it 50/50, 60/40, 40/60 etc.?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

If I remeber well, the ratio is the same wathever the engine (except may be for the TSI 280).

In normal conditions, the ratio is 100/0 (only FWD), and when the conditions requires the AWD mode, then the ratio moves to 50/50. But this needs to be checked. I have this value in mind from Audi forums with models also using the Haldex system. But may be it slightly different on our Skodas...

1. That will be a Mk II Superb. This is the Mk III forum.

2. It's Haldex so the ratio between front and rear is constantly monitored and electronically varied according to the conditions. When not under stress the ratio is 90/10 (not 100/0).

Oups, I missed the unvailable combination TSI 1.8 + 4x4 on Mk3.

To me, in normal mode the rear wheels are not active at all.

If that’s the case then you have a fault.

Early Haldex were 95/5, more recent are 90/10.

I was just trying to remember. But I wouldn't have bet a £...  ;)

So... is that it? Either 95/5 or 90/10?

Could it ever be 50/50?

What make and model would have a 50/50 ratio?  A Tesla?

Yours will hit 50:50 when it needs to. It can't put more than than to the rear.

No idea if any or how many cars are 50:50 all the time.

Some permanent AWD may do

Many Audi fitted with Torsen Quattro (A4 and High, Q5 and higher, R8) should, I think.

Probably many others.
