AmD One-Click resale/re-flash

Featured Replies

Anyone know what they charge to re-flash?

I decided to sell the Fabia in standard guise as I think it made it more sellable. But I know don't know what to do with the One-Click?

I know there was a seller not that long ago on eBay who got

Post it on here for a week then stick it on ebay....Think it depends if its stage 1 or 2 what you will get for it.

Stage 1 or 2? I didn't think there was a choice for the PD diesel engines?

As far as I was concerned there was one choice, giving 160-ish BHP...

Would still like to know what the re-flashing charge might be, so I can judge whether it's worth my while doing that, then selling it.

Steve

Phone 'em and ask.

Forgot its a diesel!!!!!

Can it be done with vag-com?

Nope. The ECU/engine code is hard coded into the Oneclick device. Only AMD can change it.

Surely all Std Motors are the same, what difference will it make???

Nobody will buy a OneClick for 200 notes if it keeps it standard!

Not all standard cars are the same either, VAG regularly change and update the specs of ECUs, and the OncClick has your original ECU and Chassis number encrypted in it's brain, hence won't work on another car. Unless I've got my wires crossed and completely misunderstood your comment????!

No, you have completely misunderstood my comment :D I meant that when you "Click" it back to std settings it should be the same for every 130PD engine??? Maybe apart from the new Euro4 engines!

I have recently ran my car on a revo'd 150PD ECU for a days trial (as revo don't do the 4hr trial on diesels) with no ill effects!

Yep agreed with that bit. I don't think returning the car to standard is the problem or question.

Reading from the top post, I think he just wants to get some money back from selling the OneClick clicker and wants to know how much AmD would charge to re-flash it to another car and hence give the clicking device a bit of value.

Some of AmD's staff have left recently and set up another tuning business too. Wonder if they could throw some light on the subject as they should still have the same contacts, nudge nudge, wink, wink.....

Or am I still at cross purposes to your comments, if so accept my apologies and I'll bow out of further comments in this thread

The One-Click is a Generic map, is it not??? So Like you can swap the Revo Chipped ECU from car to car you could with a one-click?????? Try it on another vRS if it dun't throw a wobbler, bobs your unkle:thumbup:

Do you mean swapping the whole ECU from one car to another? Or do you mean just trying the One-Click box in another PD130 motor? Can't see either working to be honest, as part of the process is that the engine code and ECU data are recorded onto the One-Click box and you then send it back to AmD for the performance map to be added.

And even then, the former's a bit difficult now and the car was driven away by new owner last night ;)

Steve

When you buy a One Click from AMd. You have to upload your car's info to it and then send it back to them. They then load the generic map to this and send it back to you again. Therefore it will only work on your car, nobody else's. I suggest you send it to Amd to put it back to generic for any car and take it from there. They must be able to reset it. If owners sell their car they will not want to buy a whole new unit!! Maybe even add it to a new car, if compatable

I was actually talking to APS (the guys that left AMD) and they said I was looking at about £150 for a re-flash from what they remember, because I'm looking into getting their custom software but I don't really want to pay £150 to make £200. If you were on the last GB they should jump at the chance to buy back your unit as they made a loss on every one sold apparently.

Keep us informed on how you get on with AMD.

Cheers

That was my opinion - that they could buy it back, then sell it on again quite easily - the unit obviously still looks brand new. I did email them last week, as I sorted out the payment/delivery from the GB over email, but didn't hear back.

Will let you know how I get on.

Steve.
