ISOFIX

Featured Replies

We have a Karoq Edition, but thought it would be nice to be able to take our 3 young grandchildren out together. I thought I'd look at the Kodiaq as one or two of the kids seats could go in the very back row giving us comfortable room for 3 kids and 3 grownups.  First surprise was no ISOFIX in the back row. Guy at the garage didn't know if they were available as an option, but I don't think they are. He did say ISOFIX on the front passenger seat is an option, but  Grandkids aren't really old enough the sit in the front and in any case it would mean a grownup sitting in the very back row and there ain't much room!!! I know we could fit a seat on the back row using the seat belt, but they're a long way back and ISOFIX would be so much easier. Just seems stupid to me that anyone would design a 7 seat family car and only put ISOFIX on 2 of the seats. Net result is we'll not buy a Kodiaq, we'll just take 2 cars in the short term.

The other disturbing thing is that the Karoq has cream leather and he said we would get £1000 less for it in a trade-in than if it were black. They didn't tell us that when we ordered. We've had 5 new Skoda's in the past 6 years but I suspect our next car won't have a silver arrow on the bonnet!!

First off... you can't have had your Karoq very long at all - so the interior colour is going to be the least of your worries when it comes to trading in and losing a whole heap of cash (although you seem not to keep cars very long). But on the point of interior choices - why would the dealer tell you? It could simply be down to demand at that particular dealer. Go to a different one and they might offer you more if they have more customers looking for one with cream leather.

But onto the Kodiaq part of your post (this is the Kodiaq forum, after all!)... no, ISOFIX isn't available on the third row. You might want to consider a Q7 - I believe all 6 passenger seats have ISOFIX! Fords (S-MAX, Galaxy) also have 3 ISOFIX points on the middle row. But yes, there is little choice when it comes to Skoda for carting around lots of little people if you must have ISOFIX (not criticising... I'm with you - far better than seatbelts).

Only one 7-seater SUV with the smaller, foldable third row seats equipped with ISOFIX is available, as already mentioned, the Audi Q7, but it's a bigger and much more expensive option...

On the Kodiaq you can at least add (as a factory cost option) ISOFIX points on the front passenger seat, for £45.

It just means that your partner, or whoever would normally sit next to the driver, will need to sit in the back. Might not be such a bad thing
