Hi there, I believe I have come to the right place. I have a Skoda Octavia Scout, 2011 model. It recently started showing flashing glow plug light and check engine light, I just thought I could ask around hopefully I can get some advice. I plugged a RAC diagnostic code reader and it came back with a couple of codes:

P2563 Turbocharger Boost Control Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance

P2452 Diesel Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Sensor Circuit

P00AF -

Check Deadlock Owners Manual

Any advice would be largely appreciated.

Thank you

what engine is it ? Code - size

ok, dead lock - does your car have anti hijack activated ? as in it locks once its over 10mph and stays until you manually unlock it or turn the engine off. this wouldn't set off the EML tho

turbo boost sounds like it could be sticky vanes - If you boot it does it go into limp mode ? how is the power delivery ?

DPF could be a few - is the DPF light on ? how do you drive it ?

with it being a pressure sensor it's quite difficult to pinpoint - could be damaged, could be a loose or cracked hose

when was your battery last changed, skoda's tend to throw some weird codes when the battery is on it's way out - has it been  tested recently ?

spelling

I had to change the Differential Pressure Sensor on my 2008 PD Scout when the EML came on, although the fault code on mine was - 001139 - Exhaust Pressure Sensor 1 (G450) - P0473 - 000 - Signal too High - Intermittent

Apparently if the senor is made in US it is a case of when not if it fails, if made in Malaysia then should be OK (This relates to PD engines so not sure if CR would be the same)

A scan with VCDS may give more info/

Thank you for your insight,

The Skoda is a 2.0 L engine Scout. And it runs but seems to go on a limp mode. When I switch the key on, the lights DPF comes on and disappears after starting the car. However, the glow plug light flashes and the check engine light comes on. I have recently changed the battery, its got a brand new battery fitted.

sticking vanes then, look up the mr muscle turbo cleaning on here there 's a guide that will help -

if you're going into limp then the engine wont be running correctly and will in turn be clogging up your DPF  start at the turbo and take it from there, how many miles has it done?

Thank you for your valuable advice.

The last thing I need to ask is, My Skoda scout is automatic, recently the gearbox has been a bit temperamental. When I try to engage the reverse gear it goes into reverse but then shows a little spanner. It does not respond or reverse despite showing its on reverse on MFD. Shifting back and forth several times it then engages and the car moves. Any idea what that might be? Thanks

turbo should be ok for a while then, I took my previous Octavia upto nearl 190k on the original turbo wasn't until the last 10k started giving me overboost issues (sticky vanes, which mr muscle seemed to cure)

Can't help on the auto boxes I know little to nothing about them, thought it might have brought up a code tho - assume you have it serviced regularly (engine and box)
