Android Auto and Google Play search problems

Featured Replies

Have just changed to from iphone to Huawei .

Having problem controlling music stored on phone within Android Auto.

Don't seen to be able to search Albums or Artists just scroll through everything in Queue .

Am I missing something it all works and looks good on the Phone based app Playlists Artists Albums etc.

Tried to download VLC player but not visible within Android Auto.

Any alternatives or suggestions welcome I don't want this single thing to make me regret moving from Apple to Android!!

Looks like you may be using the stock music player?  I know this music player works fine for searching albums / artists / album artists etc as I use it - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gonemad.gmmp and just this week Poweramp claims it now works on Android Auto - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maxmpz.audioplayer but I have not tried yet.

Also you could just say 'OK Google, play [artistname] using [whatever player you choose]' which saves taking eyes off the road and playing with the screen (to do this activate the voice control by LONG PRESS on the voice button on left hand of steering wheel)

I had the Huawei Mate Pro 20 and it ended up going back after i had 4 of them. First one didn't even launch with Android Auto, second one launched but couldn't make any calls with phone app on AA, 3rd one had the dreaded green screen and the same with the 4th one, but they all had various issues with AA. If you search on Facebook, you'll see there is a group about the various issues that Huawei phones have with AA. I ended up getting a Pixel 3XL and that's worked fine.
