AutoExpress this week

Featured Replies

Anyone read the new survey in AutoExpress? Octavia Mk 2 second! Rave review [talking about whole range really]. Only topped by Lexus as general make, and by Honda S200 as individual car.

(sorry - didn't realise "Invisible Car" thread referred to same articles.)

Yeap, old model came 6th and the Fabia 4th .... I bet that makes VW along with loads of other manufacturers cry.

Which car came top in the "performance" rating ?

Shush, you! :D

Well, it is an over-all thing - the Octy didn't come top in any one department but the across-the-board satisfaction is wot dun it! [it is an owners' opinion survey]

Bottom was Peugot 307. No comment.

Interesting the Lexus often comes out on top. Upmarket Toyota. Yet Octy is [assumed to be] down market VW. Summat screwy somewhere.

Just read it a bit more - Octy 2 was ONLY car in whole chart that didn't underperform in any category. [The winning Honda was low on practicality.]

Such a shame that the Sun newspaper decided to completely delete the Octy from their article about the survey.

I reckon that that Murdoch chappie must have owned a Skoda Estelle before he became a billionaire and broke down!!

It is extremely strange that a marque with three different cars in the top 6 [and only beaten out of first place by a hot-dog specialist sports car] didn't get mentioned!

Perhaps Skoda don't pass around enough brown envelopes stuffed with cash, to the right people - that seems to be how this country works nowadays.
