Collected my VRS Octavia, 12 hours later booked back in for electrical faults!

Featured Replies

I mean, that has to be some record, it’s a 2015 Octavia VRS from a main Skoda Dealer, Lane assist is not working and giving me an error code of 00662 Tachometer (G5)  if anyone has any ideas please feel free as Google offers not a lot of advice.

Also  it has FSH but it went all the way to 19132 miles and 2.5 years before it had first service, is that normal? My Mazda and Leaf were both on yearly services before that?

love the car, just disappointed they did not spot the error though

I was 10 minutes down the road from collecting my then brand new Octy in 2013 -  into a NSL zone and the TPM, ABS and other lights came on

headed back to the dealership, it was traced to a cracked ABS sensor ring, which took the rest of the day to fix  (the salesman did give me "his" car in the meantime)

My brand new car was delivered with rear parking sensors that didn't work. When you put it in reverse it displayed a fault on the dash and made a sound so I'm sure the delivery guy new this as well as he reversed it off the truck and on to my drive.

Seeing as though this isnt a new car we are talking about I can offer my experience too. Probably about 10 or 11 years ago I went to pick up a Vectra 2.2 diesel. I didnt get off the forecourt, discovered that the electric wing mirrors werent adjusting and there was a warning light up on the dash for a blown headlight bulb. It was, of course, an omen for things to come and after 18 months of ownership Id had enough of getting everything I deserved for buying a vauxhall

If it was me, I'd be looking to seek some written clarification on that first service and whether that constitutes full service history according to the manufacturers schedule.

The maximum duration for variable intervals is 24 months, or approx 18600 miles (30k km). The miles is probably within tolerance/leway, however I'm not sure the additional 6 months is.

Better to be sure now than being stung later down the line if a warranty claim or goodwill claim is rejected because of it.
