Columbus wifi connection

Featured Replies

Hidden in the Columbus menu is the ability to connect to a wifi hotspot, does anyone know what it is used for?

Do you have an LTE model? If so you can put a data SIM card in it or tether your phone to create a WiFi hotspot. My data SIM is on its way so I can see what’s it like without tethering my phone :)

On the older models without Skoda Connect/SmartGate etc it was pretty much a useless feature.

You could share your wifi connection from your mobile phone, to the car, which would then create it's own hotspot and people could connect to that.

Or... you could just connect to your mobile's wifi instead, skipping the cars wifi :D

Thanks, I meant the option to connect to an existing wifi hotspot, eg if i'm on my drive I can connect to my house wifi.

Great thanks

I see!! Yeah, as above, you can share your phone data around the car but you can do that with your phone anyway.
