Cruise Control issue mk2 vrs

Featured Replies

So i just had my squib changed, i sourced the part myself from ebay, i had it fit by a local mechanic who failed to change my stalks over, and just finished doing so.

Its the same part number as just came off it, but for some reason my CC doesn't work now - could it be the new squib? I'm kind of lost as to what to try here.

Any help would be appreciated!

You should have someone scan it using VCDS to check for fault codes and how it's coded.

Ideally you should have done this before having it replaced to verify the hardware, software and coding matches.

Damn, I'd of thought my mechanic would know this. :(

What is a squib?

If it is the main ECU then there is a coding for cruise control, I fitted a remapped one and had to recode it to get my cruise control back.

It's the slipring that fits behind the steering wheel. Depending on the age of the OP's car, it may also have the steering controller attached.

its a 2010 octavia. Same part as the one that was taken out but CC now doesn't work. Could be a coding issue, he's taking another look tomorrow

After taking it in a week later, he wasn't to strip it all down and have another look at it. Which isn't really convenient for me at the moment.
