1.4 manual gearbox

Featured Replies

Afternoon all

Have just picked my third Yeti and have gone for a 2016 L&K 4x4 1.4 petrol manual with 15 000 miles.  Love the high spec and 150bhp, but finding the gearbox a little "sticky".

Is this normal?

Maybe I'm just spoilt with the Citigo, which has a lovely little action...

Cheers for any wisdom.

Can't say I've noticed anything on mine.

Not driven a Citigo for comparison, but my gearbox seems normal to me.

????...mine is very smooth and sweet, not noticed any probs. Mine a late 2015 and not quite on 15k miles.

(I would say a smidge better than my last 1.4 tsi Octavia  ?????)

My experience is that the heavier the flywheel (a function of engine capacity- diesel in particular) the more ‘industrial’ (clumsy/heavy) the manual shift feel.

Small (petrol) Fords had magical gearboxes because they had lighter rotating mass.

The gearbox is okay on mine, nothing special, have to say it was much smoother on my Octavia 1.6 TD, it works well enough, just need to make sure you're fairly positive in changing gears.

Mine is the 170ps, 2 litre. Gear change is as smooth as. No notchiness or stickyness at all.

Find mine very smooth and light to use.
