Mirrors and windows

Note; Pre facelift yetis will close windows and fold mirrors with one continuous press of the fob, where as the F/L models require a 2nd press after the windows have closed.

Pardon me - some or even most pre-F/Ls.  I think I've said that mine requires two operations - unless the windows are already closed, of course.  I'll grant that it is one of the last Classics, though.  Isn't the Yeti a wild and wonderful beast?  :giggle:

So it had lost the one touch setting on the windows, as that is what stops them either all opening or closing with the relevant button held down.

I have two Yetis. The one in my signature now works like this. Press the keyfob lock and the doors lock. Press again and the windows shut. Press again and the mirrors fold. My newer Yeti works as it should one long press works all.

I suggest you find another dealer!
From all the experience of this forum, and from looking at past brochures, if your car is fitted with electrically folding mirrors, then they will fold both form the internal switch AND via the handset.

It is the main Skoda dealer!

It might be the local main dealer, but that doesn't mean he is any good, as many on here will agree with.
And if this is Blades in Bristol then I suggest you read some of the reviews about them; they aren't good.

As I said, all the experience of members here, and the past brochures, says that if your car has electric folding door mirrors they they should operate from both the switch on the drivers door AND from the remote.

Thats what I thougth, but doesn't the second press also disable the movement sensor inside the car for the alarm?

It is Blade in Weston-super-Mare. I’ve got some concerns already with them as my Yeti was booked in to have the sat nav updated yesterday and they claimed they didn’t know about it! They remembered to get the paint touch up stick ordered though. Also I was advised to buy LifeShine which I did but have now discovered from the previous owner and AutoGlym themselves that it already had LifeShine. So far not impressed with Blade.

Having read previous comments concerning this issue, I have tried again this morning and surprise, surprise it now folds the wing mirrors from the key fob. After changing the setting not to close the windows from the key fob, it doesn’t fold the mirrors. I’ve put it back to closing windows and folding mirrors.

Many thanks for all the advice etc, we got there in the end.

Having taken my Yeti to the dealer today, they had a play around and stated that my Yeti doesn’t have the facility to fold in the mirrors from the key fob.

AND;

it now folds the wing mirrors from the key fob.

I think this confirms the quality of some dealers....

The award for Weston's Super Nightmare goes to Blades :clap::clap:

Interesting.  There's nothing in the "Window convenience operation" section of the manual to suggest that the window convenience setting in Maxidot would affect the mirrors too.  All the manual says in the "Mirrors" section is:

Quote

Folding-in both of the exterior mirrors using the remote control key
› Close all windows and hold the button  on the remote control key.

Note that it does seem to state* that you have to close the windows first.

I think you'd have to be a fairly dedicated fiddler to find out that there might be some kind of connection between the operation of the windows and the mirrors.  I didn't notice anyone else who's contributed to this thread suggesting trying what DRGW did, and this forum must contain a fairly high proportion of inveterate feature-explorers!

I reckon DRGW deserves thanks for finding out yet another unexpected and undocumented "feature" of the Yeti!

* In as much as the manual ever really "states" anything: the wording is usually so woolly as to be open to multiple interpretations.

I can’t take the credit for finding this. It was the dealer who said that it couldn’t be done and after going through some settings with me, I found when I got home that the mirrors folded with the key fob.
