Adding sound proofing

Featured Replies

The Superb is a quiet car, but I like a project so going to set about adding some sound proofing here and there.

5mm bitumen followed by 10mm closed cell.  Going to do the boot floor first, as that is the easiest.

Next will be inside rear wheel arches.  Anyone got any tips on removing the side carpeting?  There is a screw on the floor but where else are the main anchor points?

Will post up pics when underway.

Cheers.

There is a long thread by someone in Eastern Europe adding a load of sound proofing to his Superb, a year or so ago.

He did loads of mods, and posted lots of details, so his post should help you.
