What's this please?

Front background lighting.

Scrolling through the CAR settings I came across this. I cant  find any explanation of it in handbook.

Is it in the infotainment handbook not the car handbook?

I have one book for the car and another for the infotainment system.

Or does your book cover both?

Thanks AG Falco

I've driven a Golf with this setting - I believe it controls ambient lighting in the cabin...do the Fabias have ambient lighting now? Mine certainly doesn't :(

Infotainment seems to be in the handbook but I cant find any info on it.

I don't have ambient lighting as far as I know. Why has it been set at 30%? I've not touched it.

Might just be a default setting. Have you made any adjustments via Carista or similar? Perhaps it's just an inactive setting that's been accidentally exposed in the menu...

The car already knows what you like!  :o

I've discovered what it is.

It is the ambient lighting dimmer control.

Above the USB port and 12v socket there is faint green ambient lighting ,that's what it's for.

Interesting - I just double-checked my Fabia (Sept 2017 SE L 110) and there is no ambient lighting. Is yours a newer model?

It seems the facelift Fabia got a little bit of lighting over the centre console - as @RickW says - just above the USB and 12V socket.

It's a one-LED ambient lighting - just there, in that one ambience !

Mind you - it did need a light - it was a bit of a black hole there. I got a little USB powered LED thingie on mine - mind you, I have to switch it on manually ( groan !!! ) .

Incidentally, @RickW - is that a speaker in the back of the console ? Looks like it, in some of the pics. A mini-sub-woofer ?!

I fitted a set of interior lights from a Superb Mk.1 to my Fabia, with 2 red downlighters. It illuminates that area and the gearstick quite nicely at night.

I'll check on the speaker tomorrow. I'm still learning about the car as their are some subtle differences from my 16 plate Fabia.

Yes it's a speaker in the back of the console although I couldnt tell you if it's a sub woofer.

The sound does seem better in this Fabia than my last one.

I'll be taking the ambient lighting up to 60%,just  because I can :excl:
