Battery change

Featured Replies

I need to change battery on my car I think as the car’s stuttering sometimes on start up in the cold / wet.

Now what I wanted to check was if I need to recode the car after the original battery has been whipped out? I mean, is this a DIY job or a garage job?

also, as said on a previous thread if car needs garage I tend to buy the parts for them. So, is this battery any good?

That battery won't be suitable, you need EFB or AGM as the car has stop/start. EFB/AGM batteries are designed to cope with the increased number of cycles from stop/start systems.

Personally I'd be going for an 096 AGM, from Varta, Yuasa, or Halfords (rebranded Yuasa). The car should be coded after the battery has been replaced, by changing the serial number. Other battery info such as type, capacity etc. should be updated too.

I've used https://www.tayna.co.uk but for a different vehicle, they were cheapest and service was excellent.
