"FIXED" CAR .. OR IS IT

Featured Replies

Further to a previous post i put up after a main dealer having the car for getting on for a week and a half the car is fixed (i thought it was a water pump as levels of water temperature up to over the top high etc etc as has been discussed on here several times.. another story i know but the dealer replaced the thermostat housing saying it was that ... then eventually the water pump after that didn't work)

The car is now "fixed" but the engine light is now on for the second time (oddly last time it was last Sunday and today too) picked the car up last Thursday didn't use it much and on the Sunday the engine light (the one that looks like an engine came on)  after a 12 mile trip mostly A roads back and forth to work it stayed on with no particular changes noted (but see below) then when started again Monday light went off and stayed off.... assuming it was something emissions thing, i filled it with a bit of Redex and after a week its now on again.

Since being back there is something i cant put my finger on the car feels a tiny bit sluggish and a little jumpy or maybe hesitant, its barely there but enough to be noticeable

Should i just wait a while and see if it clears (and assume its an emissions thing as it is running "well") or any ideas out there

its a 2014 TSI VRS with about 45,000 on the clock recent service (at the same time as the problems and had spark plugs changed)

As a side note dealer was Motorline Medway to be fair they got it sorted out on warrantee and after 3 days gave me a loan car, but the service chap said the exact same words to me EVERY time i rang, they never phoned me once to up date i had to do the chasing and every time without fail i rang he said "i can see its on the ramp now and should be done by the end of the day" .. even when the manager had told me that parts were on back order... 10 days later he was still saying those exact same words to me! might as well have been a recording, they had it for 11 days, thats either one hell of a rebuild or a few porkies about if its actually on the ramp or not  .. honesty is all i ask from a dealer!

Could be a knackered turbo.

If it’s losing water head gasket.
