Oil filler cap leak

Featured Replies

Second time I have noticed oil residues forming around the oil filler cap.

I flagged this up last year when the car was serviced and the dealer apparently confirmed it was leaking and replaced the filler cap.

2 months later the leak is present again. I can actually see that oil has passed up beyond the cap seal.

Not a major oil leak but to occur a second time...

Is this another skoda characteristic?

Petrol tsi 220.

Poor batch of filler caps or just poor in general?

Has this occurred for anyone else? Be it diesel or petrol engines?

Noticed this on my 2015 diesel model. I'll keep an eye on it but nothing too serious at the moment, 65 plate done 100k.

Never had the problem with the 3 TDI engines I formerly had.

I'll have a closer look on both current TDI engines, we have at home. Thank you for warning us ! ;)

I'll let you know, how is mine. ;)

Spoke to my nearest skoda dealer mechanic who has seen this problem a number of times on octavia and superb models.

Hi, was there ever a resolution to this issue? I seem to have the same problem on a 14 plate TSI 220. A new cap is £14 from Skoda so wanted to find out if this will help before purchasing one. Thanks
