Octavis VRs 06 MK2 Drivers Door card repair.

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone,

I have had a problem since purchasing my vRS with the top of the drivers door card having an "ELBOW HOLE" in it. I tried stuffing the hole with foam and then a glue repair but it wasn't any good really.

Recently I purchased an Octavia door card from my local scrap yard for next to no money. Today a decide to have a go at repairing it. You will see from the pictures that I removed the vRS bit from the centre using a 10 mm drill with the electric drill. It is necessary to be very careful just to take the heads off. I plugged the holes, trial fitted, then glued around the posts and used some stainless screws with washers in the holes to hold it together.

I think that the Final result looks ok.

That looks to be a pretty good job! It's a job that i am going to have to do at some point too, the "Elbow Hole" in mine is a lot worse!

I have since purchased some door card retaining buttons as the originals were very brittle and fell to pieces in my hands or when fitting the card. The new ones are a completely different design but worked perfectly.
