Remember the millenium bug, where toasters and all sorts of equipment were going to stop working at midnight...

Companies made and spent a fortune on that, and I suspect a large number of people will be expecting the same non event when it happens in April.

To be fair with the Y2K bug, it was a mostly non-event because of the effort spent.

Had nothing been done, outcomes would have been a lot worse.

Hi,

I'm having issues with my mkii Superb satnav/columbus unit.  It was working fine, then the next day or so decided I was somewhere in Germany...locking onto a total 0 out of 12 satellites.

Is a firmware upgrade being provided (for free) by Skoda to fix this software bug given this is a known & predictable behavior of the protocol?

Delivery Part: 3T0035680C

HW-Version H60

SW-Version 3984

Sounds like you might have a faulty GPS antenna. More likely a new antenna will be the fix, and for a fiver or so I'd be doing that first before handing it over to Skoda to start throwing softwares at it in the hope they can fix it.

If the unit had defaulted to German language but still knew where you were then I'd say a software reinstall would help, but your situation is simply a faulty hardware issue.

So, did the world cease to spin on its axis on April 6th? Clearly not..
