Android Radio Unit ???

Featured Replies

Hi,

Looking to get a new unit to show a camera and do sat-nav type things and all the new stuff !

These seem to be correct fit, but are they any good ? Does anyone know, or have experience of what to look for and a good brand (?) or are they all just one of many Chinese manufacturer things ?

Also - Do they actually fit my Skoda Roomster (Facelift) 2012 ?  Tab fixings (metal and plastic) 1-original-radio-stereo-upgrade-H202G_05.jpg.2b2ddcee8987589fecfc18e2cbd80f9f.jpgseem to stick out from the sides and would go into the console (unit seems to be sized to the cover trim) ?? Can't see how they will fit.

Any help/ideas gratefully accepted.

I can't see why it wouldn't fit, the fixings appear to be standard. The picture is just a very poor photoshop of the unit inserted digitally into the same pic as the original.

According to the video below it seems to fit and you still need the plastic frame. The video is quite big and not in mine nor your language, but I think it will hep you the most.

Thank you both for the help. The video link is very informative (wish I understood Rumanian for even more insight).

Forget the radio unit, the other 'unit' is far more interesting!

:)

After a couple of poor units from a couple of brands 😞

The Atoto units are great - VW Specific 7 and 8"units, or the 10.1 Universal with a VW Kit and VW FW update.

Best screens, and software that works as I expect it to - e.g. Radio keeps playing as I use Navigation SW. Two brands I tried couldn't manage this trick !!

I used to have an Android head unit in my Roomster, it did me fine for satnav, media player, phone, dab etc. The dab radio stuttering when the app is run in background is a common issue due to rubbish default dab software. Mine did it when first installed. It was fixed by this app

I have an Erisin and its a complete pile of sh1te, the navigation is the only thing that does work when its not rebooting itself from the reversing camera or me having to reboot it because it wont play even one track of the virtual CD.

I am going to try removing the Navi sim card and also the one with the CD's on it after reading what you have said, perhaps it will behave itself without them.

I will replace it though, complete K-rap other than selling me on the fact that were the functions to work it would be a very good and worthwhile upgrade, the Satnav and reversing camera are first class but are in fact ancillaries let down by the unit itself.

I just use HEREWeGo for Satnav.

Offline maps and POI. Voice guided. Drive mode with speed alerts and static cameras. Top notch simple 3D driving graphics and all for free.

Yes - DAB-Z is much better than supplied apps.
